Douglas Hurlbut, LCSW-R has spent his over 25-year career dedicated to helping those he works with achieve their optimal mental health. He uses an eclectic approach informed by his extensive training and experience that is suited to the individual needs of the people he works with. Douglas specializes in individual therapy for those that are age 12 and up. He has vast experience, training and deep knowledge of cognitive-behavioral therapeutic approaches to wellness as well as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Co-occurring disorders (mental health and substance use) and Forensic evaluation.
Also, Douglas has intensive training and experience in Executive Coaching with a focus on health care leadership.
Douglas received his Masters in Social Work from Syracuse University and has spent his career in a variety of settings gaining a full perspective of the services and supports for those seeking care.
His approach with those he works with is to form a partnership that is focused on goals that are collaboratively developed and mutually agreed upon. Douglas is committed to providing a person-centered experience that fully realizes the skills and talents of the person he is working with as well as his own.
