If you want to work with a particular provider, the wait may be longer depending on their availability. We collaborate with your primary care physician as needed. We look forward to working with you.

Kathryn A. Bamford, Ph.D.
Kathryn A. Bamford, Ph.D. received her bachelor’s degree at The Johns Hopkins University. She completed a master’s degree in Clinical Neuroscience at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and received her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from the State University of New York at Buffalo. She completed her Clinical Internship at the University of Rochester School of Medicine. Dr. Bamford has conducted research in the areas of cognitive neuroscience and cognitive impairment in neurodegenerative disorders and aging. She also has experience in the areas of mental health crisis intervention and psychological assessment for public safety officers. She has been in private practice since 1997 and is currently the managing partner of Rochester Psychological Associates. Dr. Bamford works with adults, from late adolescence to seniors, addressing adjustment difficulties, depression, anxiety disorders, stress management, and coping with chronic illness and disability. She also works with couples facing marital and family problems. Her psychotherapeutic approach is insight-oriented and cognitively based with an emphasis on personal growth and development of efficient coping strategies. She is available to attorneys requiring psychological consultations for their clients. She is a member of the American Psychological Association and the Public Service Division of the APA. Dr. Bamford also serves the community as an active member of the Massasauga Search and Rescue Team and through her work as a therapy dog handler.
Kathleen Wright-Knothe, Ph.D.
I completed a Ph.D. in psychology at Western Michigan University in 1985 and a 2-year fellowship at the Pain Treatment Center at the University of Rochester in 1994. I specialize in Cognitive Behavior Therapy. This is an action-oriented approach in which people learn skills to help themselves. Maladaptive assumptions and beliefs are also addressed. I frequently incorporate mindfulness practices in working with my clients. I also use aspects of Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Therapeutic Lifestyle Change. I am a member of the American Psychological Association, the New York State Psychological Association, and the Genesee Valley Psychological Association. I am married and have three children.
